This is a round up of some of our notable incidents from this weekend, from Friday 17:30 - Sunday 8am:
House Fire in Swinton
On October 14 at 17:32 three fire engines from Salford and Agecroft attended a domestic building fire on North Drive, Swinton. On arrival crews found the fire to be involving debris in a chimney. Crews used one hose reel and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for one hour and twenty minutes.
Building fire in Manchester
On October 14 at 17:57 two fire engines from Blackley attended a fire involving an outbuilding on hill lane Manchester. Crews found the fire to be involving a detached garage. Firefighters used two hose reels to extinguish the fire, which lasted for around thirty minutes.
Flat fire in Brinnington
On October 14 at 19:40 six fire engines from Whitehill, Stockport, Ashton-Under-Lyne, Hyde, Gorton and Offerton attended a domestic building fire on Blackberry Lane, Brinnington. At the scene crews found the fire to be involving the ground floor of a flat. Firefighters used ten breathing apparatus, three hose reels, one positive pressure ventilation fan, one short extension ladder and breaking in gear to extinguish the fire. Two casualties were taken to hospital by ambulance for precautionary checks and fire crews were in attendance for two hours and twenty minutes.
Derelict house fire in Timperley
On October 14 at 21:09 three fire engines from Sale, Altrincham and Wythenshawe attended a domestic building fire on Stockport Road, Timperley. Firefighters discovered the fire to be involving the ground floor of a derelict property. Crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire and were in attendance for fifty five minutes.
Commercial building fire in Rochdale
On October 15 at 03:34 three fire engines from Rochdale and Heywood attended a commercial building fire on Whitworth Street, Rochdale. The fire involving the ground floor of the building was tackled using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel. The property was also ventilated by crews, who were in attendance for one hour and ten minutes.
House fire in Hyde
At 19:23 hours on October 15 three fire engines from Hyde, Ashton and Stalybridge attended Welbeck Road, Hyde to a fire involving a bedroom of a terraced property. One hose reel, four breathing apparatus and a positive pressure ventilation fan were used to tackle the blaze. Firefighters were detained for approximately one hour fifteen minutes
House fire and gas leak in Stalybrige
At 02:49 on October 16 three fire engines from Hollins, Stalybridge and Mossley were mobilised to a domestic building fire at Saint Pauls close in Stalybridge. Firefighters used one hose reel to extinguish a fire involving four domestic wheelie bins against the side of a house. After the fire was extinguished firefighters discovered a leaking gas pipe behind the wheelie bins and used a gas detector and paste to cap the leak. National Grid Gas were informed and also attended.
