Between 8am and 5.30pm on Tuesday, November 7, Fire Fighters have attended 32 incidents.
Below are details of one of the incidents dealt with by our firefighters today.
Flat Fire- Altrincham
AT 11.42am on Tuesday, November 7, fire engines from Altrincham, Sale and Wythenshawe were called to reports of a fire on Gipsey Moth Close, Timperley.
On arrival crews discovered a fire involving a shower unit in a bathroom.
Crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel, lighting, a hearth kit and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire and check for fire spread.
Crews were in attendance for one hour and twenty minutes.
Chimney Fire- Manchester
AT 1.20pm on Tuesday, November 7, two fire engines from Heywood were called to reports of a chimney fire at a house on Pennine road, Manchester.
Crews used ladders, one hose reel and safe working at height equipment.
Crews were in attendance for one hour and forty minutes.
Crews would like to remind people to be careful when using open fires and chimneys.
To reduce the risk of a chimney fire you should:
- Sweep the chimney on a regular basis.
- Do not overload the grate or appliance.
- Make sure you store all fuel away from the open fire or stove.

Dishwasher Fire- Oldham
AT 3.50pm on Tuesday, November 7, fire engines from Oldham, Chadderton and Hollins were called to reports of a fire at a house on Andrew Street, Chadderton.
On arrival crews discovered a fire involving a dishwasher.
Crews used a hearth kit and one hose reel to extinguish the fire.
Crews were in attendance for thirty five minutes.
Electrical goods such as dishwashers can sometimes cause fires. Please make sure your smoke alarms are in working order and always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for keeping your electrical items in good condition. Rubbish Fire- Salford
AT 4.33pm on Tuesday, November 7, two fire engines from Irlam and Birchwood were called to reports of a fire on Cadishead Way, Irlam.
On arrival crews discovered a fire involving a large quantity of rubbish inside a shipping container.
Crews used one hose reel and one ultra high pressure lance to extinguish the fire.
Crews were in attendance for twenty minutes.
