RTC in Burnage

AT 17:29 on January 3, firefighters were called to an RTC in Burnage Lane, Manchester. Crew from Withington, Whitehill and Ashton-Under-Lyne rescued one person from a vehicle. 

Firefighters were at the scene for approximately an hour.

 

Kitchen Fire in Westhoughton 

AT 19:29 on January 3, three fire engines from Hindley, Atherton and Leigh attended a kitchen fire in Daisy Hill, Westhoughton.

They tackled the fire in the kitchen using two breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a positive ventilation fan.

Crew were at the scene for approximately 45 minutes.

 

Building Fire in Oldham

AT 00:58 on January 4, four fire engines, a hydraulic platform and a command support unit attended a house fire on Lune Street, Oldham.

Crew from Oldham, Hollins, Blackley, Whitehill and Hyde tackled the fire, which was in the first floor roof space of a terraced property.

Firefighters fought the fire using four breathing apparatus, four jets, thermal image cameras and breaking-in-gear to bring the fire under control.

As of 08.47, the fire is still being dealt with.

 

Tumble Dryer Fire in Manchester

AT 04:25 on January 4th, two fire engines from Salford and a fire engine from Moss Side attended a tumble dryer fire on Cardigan Terrace, Manchester.

Crew used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a positive pressure ventilation fan to tackle the fire. Four casualties were treated by our colleagues from North West Ambulance Service.

Firefighters were at the scene for approximately 40 minutes.
