GMFRS received 116 emergency calls from 8.30am yesterday, Friday, September 9 to 8.30am this morning, Saturday, September 10.
Here are details of some of the incidents we attended:
Dukinfield kitchen fire: We were called at 6.41pm on Friday, September 9, to a kitchen fire at Windsor Drive, Dukinfield. Firefighters used four breathing kits, two hose reels and a ventilation fan to put the fire out and clear smoke. Crew from Ashton-under-Lyne, Stalybridge and Hyde were at the scene for one hour and 10 minutes.
Chip pan fire in Bury: At 7.07pm we were called to Littlewood Avenue, Bury, where a chip pan had caused a fire. One casualty was treated for smoke inhalation by our crew and they were at the scene for 30 minutes. The incident was dealt with by firefighters from Bury, Whitefield and Ramsbottom.
Farnworth pan fire: We were called at 8.36pm to a fire involving a pan of food on a cooker at Pansy Road, Farnworth. The fire was out when firefighters from Farnworth and Bolton Central arrived and crew treated one casualty for smoke inhalation. Firefighters were at the incident for 20 minutes.
Road traffic collision in Bury: At 11.03pm we were called to a road traffic collision on Walmersley Road, Bury. Firefighters from Bury and Whitefield, and a technical rescue unit from Ashton-under-Lyne used two Webber cutters, spreaders, a hearth kit, lighting and hydraulic cutting equipment in freeing two casualties from a vehicle. The casualties were then cared for by North West Ambulance Service. Our crews were at the scene for one hour and 20 minutes.
