Incidents between Sunday, March 5 (8.00am) and Monday, March 6, 2017 (8.00am)
Flat fire – Whitefield
AT around 9.09am on Sunday, March 5, crews from Whitefield, Salford and Blackley attended a fire at a first floor flat in Radcliffe New Road, Whitefield. Firefighters used four breathing apparatus and one hose reel to tackle the fire and cleared smoke from the property using a positive pressure fan.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental and crews were detained at the scene for approximately two hours and 25 minutes.
Persons reported fire – Hyde
THREE fire engines from Stalybridge, Hyde and Ashton attended a fire involving a ground floor flat in Honiton Avenue, Hyde on Sunday, March 5.

Flat fire – Manchester
CREWS from Whitefield, Broughton and Manchester Central attended an incident in a first floor flat in Oakhill Way, Manchester at around 3.00pm on Sunday, March 5. Firefighters used four breathing apparatus and two hose reels to extinguish a fire involving a television on a landing. They then used a positive pressure fan to clear smoke from the property and remained at the scene for around one hour.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Kitchen fire – Ashton-under-Lyne
ON Sunday, March 5, at around 4.20pm, crews from Ashton, Stalybridge and Hyde were joined by a Technical Response Unit from Ashton at a fire involving a freezer in the kitchen of a house in Pelham Street, Ashton-under-Lyne.
Firefighters used four breathing apparatus and two hose reels to tackle the fire and remained at the scene for just over one hour.
