BETWEEN the hours of 8.30am and 5.30pm on Monday, February 6, 2017, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received 65 calls and were mobilised to 37 incidents including two cooking fires which you can read about below
Cooking fire – Manchester – February 6, 2017
FIREFIGHTERS from Wythenshawe, Moss Side and Withington attended a cooking fire in Rangemore Avenue, Wythenshawe at 12.10pm on February 6, 2017.
The fire involved a plastic tray which had been left in an oven in the kitchen of the semi detached house. Crews used two breathing apparatus and ventilated the property to clear the smoke.
One female casualty was led to safety and later declined hospital treatment.
Crews were detained for around forty five minutes.
Cooking fire – Bury – February 6, 2017
AT 12.49pm on February 6, 2017, crews from Broughton, Whitefield and Agecroft responded to a cooking fire in Rectory Lane, Prestwich.
The fire originated in the kitchen of the property when the occupant became distracted while cooking.
Two casualties self-rescued prior to fire service arrival.
Crews administered oxygen therapy to one casualty at the scene and were in attendance for around thirty minutes.
