BETWEEN the hours of 5.00pm on Tuesday, February 21 and 8.30am on Wednesday, February 22, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received 85 calls and attended 48 incidents including a cooking fire at a flat in Farnworth.
Cooking fire – Farnworth – February 21, 2017
SHORTLY after 5.00pm on February 21, firefighters from Farnworth and Bolton Central attended a fire at a flat in Egerton Street, Farnworth. The fire involved a pan of food left on a cooker and crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the flames. They then used a positive pressure fan to clear smoke from the property.
Firefighters remained at the scene for around 90 minutes and wish to remind people to never become distracted while cooking and to always stand by your pan.
