Road traffic collision in Eccles
At 09:57 on November 24 two fire engines from Eccles Fire Station and the Technical Response Unit and Major Rescue Unit from Ashton-Under-Lyne attended a road traffic collision on New Lane, Eccles involving one car and one transit van. Firefighters extricated one casualty from the car using stab fast equipment and a long board and then conveyed them to hospital by ambulance, suffering from back injuries. One further casualty was self-rescued on scene. Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour.
Building fire in Manchester
At 10:27 on November 24 three fire engines from Philips Park, Gorton and Manchester Central fire stations attended a building fire at Hill Lane, Manchester. Firefighters were on scene for approximately one hour and used one hose reel, two breathing apparatus and positive pressure ventilation unit to extinguish the fire involving a cooker in the kitchen of a domestic property. Two casualties suffering from smoke inhalation were treated by North West Ambulance Service, one of which was taken to hospital.
Road traffic collision in Openshaw
At 11:28 on November 24 fire engines from Philips Park and Manchester Central and the Major Rescue Unit and Technical Response Unit from Ashton attended a road traffic collision involving two cars in Clayton Lane, Openshaw, Manchester. One casualty was extricated from one of the vehicle by fire service personnel using cutting equipment, hearth kit, saw and a long board. The casualty was conveyed to hospital and crews were detained at the incident for just over one hour.
