House fire in Ashton-Under-Lyne
At 11:52 on January 4 three fire engines from Ashton-Under-Lyne, Stalybridge and Mossley were mobilised to a domestic building fire on Melbourne Street North, Ashton-Under-Lyne. Upon arrival crews discovered a fire within a terraced property and made the incident persons reported. Crews then confirmed that one casualty had self-rescued from the building. Firefighters used six breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, breaking-in gear and a positive pressure ventilation fan to deal with the incident. We were at the scene for approximately one and half hours.
Outbuilding fire in Radcliffe
At 14:50 on January 4 two fire engines from Bury and Bolton Central were mobilised to an outbuilding on fire in Harley Avenue Ainsworth, Radcliffe. Upon arrival crews found the fire to be involving a quantity of timber and fence panels and used two hose reel jets to deal with the incident. One occupier suffered superficial burns to face and was treated by a fire service trauma technician and declined treatment at hospital. Crews carried out home safety assessment at the affected property and a neighbouring property before leaving and were engaged for approximately one hour.
