Incident Date: 12 November 2016
At 6.57pm on Friday, November 11, 2016, two fire engines from Wigan were joined by Leigh’s technical response unit and major rescue unit, in dealing with a road traffic collision.
Two cars were involved in the incident at the junction of Poolstock Lane and Warrington Road in Wigan.
Firefighters released a woman (age unknown) from one of the vehicles using specialist cutting equipment, before she was taken to hospital.
Crew members were at the incident for around 40 minutes.
Shortly before 6am on Saturday, November 12, 2016 there was a collision on the M61 southbound involving two cars.
Two fire engines, from Farnworth and Agecroft, went to the motorway, between junctions four and three, with a technical response unit from Leigh.
On their arrival firefighters discovered that two people were trapped in the cars.
Crews used specialist cutting equipment to release both casualties before they were taken to hospital.
Firefighters remained at the incident for around one hour.
Firefighters rescue four people from flood water in Bury
At around 8.10am on Saturday, November 12, 2016, four people were rescued from their cars by firefighters after becoming trapped in flood water in Bury.
