Flat fire - Rochdale - February 2, 2017

Between the hours of 5.30pm on Wednesday February 1, and 8.30 am on Thursday February 2, 2017, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received 76 calls and were mobilised to 41 incidents. The below may be of interest.

Flat fire – Rochdale – February 2, 2017

FIREFIGHTERS attended a fire at a flat in Milnrow Road, Rochdale at 1.15am on February 2, 2017. Two fire engines from Rochdale and one fire engine from Littleborough used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to tackle the fire and a positive pressure fan to clear smoke from the flat.

It is believed that the fire was caused accidentally when the occupant became distracted whilst cooking.

Crews wish to remind people to never leave cooking unattended and always stand by your pan.
