Between the hours of 5.30pm on Monday, February 6, and 8.00am on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received 81 calls and were mobilised to 38 incidents. The below may be of interest.
Road Traffic Collision - Middleton
At 5.38pm two fire engines from Ramsbottom and Blackley along with the Technical Response Unit and Major Rescue Unit from Ashton attended a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on Baytree Lane, Middleton.
Firefighters released two casualties from the vehicles who were then taken to hospital by ambulance.
Firefighters were in attendance for approximately 50 minutes.
Bandstand Fire – Queens Park, Heywood
At 6.35pm two fire engines from Rochdale and Middleton attended a fire involving an outbuilding fire in Queens Park, Heywood.
Firefighters extinguished a storeroom fire within the bandstand.
Firefighters were in attendance for over four hours.
Garages Fire - Ashton
At 7.02pm two fire engines from Stalybridge and Ashton attended a fire involving two garages on Botany Lane, Ashton.
Firefighters used two hose reels, two breathing apparatus and dry decontamination to extinguish the fire.
Firefighters were in attendance for two hours.
Cooking Fire – Manchester
At 11.24pm three fire engines from Withington and Moss Side attended a house fire involving a pan of food on Dermot Murphy Close, Manchester.
Firefighters used a pressure fan. A casualty was treated at the scene by North West Ambulance Service.
Firefighters were at the scene for 50 minutes.
House Fire – Old Trafford
At 11.41pm two fire engines from Salford were mobilised to a house fire on Seymour Grove, Old Trafford.
Firefighters treated one casualty for smoke inhalation and burns.
Firefighters were at the scene for one hour.
