Incident Update - 8am to 3.45pm Tuesday, February 7

Incident Date: 07 February 2017

Between the hours of 8am and 3.45pm on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service received  51 calls and were mobilised to 28 incidents. The below may be of interest.

Road Traffic Collision - Warburton

At 8.55am a fire engine from Irlam was called to a two vehicle road traffic collision on Moss Lane, Warburton.

Firefighters used one breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire in one vehicle.

Firefighters were in attendance for approximately 30 minutes.

Casualty Rescue – Cheadle

At 11.23am two fire engines from Withington and Cheadle along with the Technical Response Unit and Major Rescue Unit from Leigh were called to an incident on Kingsway, Cheadle involving a casualty who had fallen from scaffolding.

Firefighters used rope access gear, oxygen therapy and a stretcher to rescue the casualty who was then transferred to hospital by North West Ambulance Service.

Firefighters were in attendance for one hour and 20 minutes.

Cooking Fire – Manchester

At 12.32pm two fire engines from Moss Side and one from Gorton were called to a fire involving a pan of food in a flat on City Road, Manchester.

A fire service trauma technician treated one casualty for smoke inhalation at the scene before passing over to the care of North West Ambulance Service.

Firefighters were in attendance for approximately 30 minutes.
