Derelict cricket club fire – Manchester
AT 8.49pm on May 9, 2017, four fire engines from Whitehill, Gorton and Withington were joined by a hydraulic platform from Manchester Central at a fire involving a derelict cricket club in Anchor Close, Levenshulme.
On arrival crews discovered the building well alight and used one jet, one hose reel and two breathing apparatus to tackle the fire through the night.
Crews remain at the scene this morning monitoring the incident using a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots and remaining pockets of fire.
GMFRS personnel are liaising with building inspectors to make the scene safe.
