Commercial building fire - Bury
Friday, April 28

INVESTIGATIONS into the cause of the blaze involving a building in Park Road, Bury, are ongoing between the fire service and police.
Two fire engines remain at the incident, after a fire broke out yesterday afternoon (April 27).
Firefighters are continuing to 'damp down' at the scene and are opening up containers to access pockets of fire.

TWO fire engines have remained at the scene overnight, continuing to use two jets to damp down and keep water on the small pockets of flames remaining.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
Thursday, April 27
Update at 8.45pm
SIX fire engines and two aerial appliances are fighting a fire in a skip hire business in Park Road, Bury, tonight.
More than 30 firefighters are at the scene, where a quantity of waste measuring 70 metres by 20 metres is on fire.
A roof structure has collapsed and plumes of smoke have been dispersed over the town. Residents nearby have been asked to keep out of the smoke and keep their windows and doors closed.
Officers at the scene have used thermal imaging cameras to check for fire spread into neighbouring industrial units but are confident it has been contained at the moment.
Update at 5pm
AT 5.02pm Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire at a commercial building on Park Road, Bury.
Seven crews from Gorton, Heywood, Whitefield, Bolton and Atherton and two specialist appliances from Ashton are at the scene.
Firefighters are using two jets and four breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.
