GMFRS was called to a fire at a Walkden church at 10.10pm on Sunday, November 20.
The fire, in a two storey detached church building at the Stanley Road / Memorial Road junction in Walkden, Worsley started in the main assembly room of the building.
Six fire engines attended from Agecroft, Eccles, Atherton, Hindley and Leigh, along with an aerial platform.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus and using one jet and two hose reels bought the fire under control.
Our air unit was used to view the roof of the building and to make sure that all areas of the fire had been extinguished.
Nobody was injured in the fire. Cause is currently unknown and fire investigation are now involved.
One fire engine is still on the scene.
Update Monday, November 21, 4.50pm - investigations are ongoing into the cause of the blaze.
