A family have been seriously injured in a collision near Bredbury.
Shortly before 4.30pm on Sunday 26 July 2015, there was a collision involving two vehicles on Crookilley Way near to junction 25 of the M60 for Bredbury.
A seven-year-old girl sadly died from her injuries, and a 35-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) attended the scene and released the three people from the vehicle.
The occupants of the second vehicle, a 31-year-old man and two children aged 11 and 9, suffered minor injuries and were treated by ambulance at the scene.
Police are appealing for information and witnesses.
PC Paul Hailwood from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "A young girl has tragically lost her life and we are supporting the family at this very difficult time. It is very early stages but we are in the process of piecing together the circumstances that led to this tragic incident. I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the collision to speak to police."
