Unattended cooking causes fire in Manchester

At 4.12pm today, Monday, November 7, 2016, four fire engines were sent to reports of a fire involving a fourth-floor flat in Manchester.

Wearing breathing apparatus firefighters used positive pressure fan to remove smoke from the property after a fire broke out in the kitchen.

Firefighters were on the scene for around one hour.

The fire is thought to have started accidentally by a pan of food left unattended.
