GMFRS received around 135 emergency calls in the last 24 hours. Here is a summary of some of the incidents we attended:
Oldham house fire
At 11.08am on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, firefighters were called to a house fire in Seventh Avenue, Oldham.
Three engines, from Oldham, Hollins and Chadderton, went to the address and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels and a positive pressure fan to deal with the fire in the kitchen of a mid-terraced house.
Leigh cooking fire
At 3.17pm on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, three fire engines, from Irlam, Leigh and Atherton, went to a cooking fire in a house on Eyet Street, Leigh.
Crew members wore breathing apparatus and used hose reels to put the fire out.
Firefighters were at the incident for around 30 minutes.
Chip pan fire in Manchester
At 9.17pm on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, a crew from Blackley and Philips Park were called to a chip pan fire on Chapel Lane, Manchester.
One person suffered slight smoke inhalation, but declined hospital treatment
At 2.44am this morning, Wednesday, September 28, a crew from Wigan and Hindley attended a fire on Houghton Street, Wigan involving a car and a house.
Three firefighters in breathing apparatus used hose reels, a high pressure fan and breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze.
Two people were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene by paramedics but declined hospital treatment.
