AROUND 30 firefighters and officers are dealing with a building fire in Salford.

Emergency calls were made to North West Fire Control at 2.10pm on Thursday, April 28, 2016 about a fire involving a derelict building on Redwood Street.

Firefighters from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) are tackling the fire and have used an aerial appliance and a high pressure lance.

Station Manager Paul Fearnhead, who is in charge of the incident, said: “Crew members are working hard to fight the fire involving a single storey derelict building and attached office block and have used an aerial appliance and a lance to tackle the fire from outside.
