Incidents - November 24 5.30pm to November 25 8am

Incident Date: 25 November 2016

RTC, Salford

At 6.25pm on Thursday, November 24, two fire engines from Salford and two technical response units from Ashton were mobilised to a road traffic collision involving four cars in Blackfriars Road, Salford.

Firefighters administered first aid to two casualties and ensured all vehicles were safe. One person was transferred to hospital by NWAS. Crews were at the scene for approximately 45 minutes.

Outbuilding Fire, Wythenshawe  

At 7.46pm on November 24, fire crews attended a fire at an outbuilding of a domestic property in Shawbury Road, Wythenshawe.

Firefighters used breathing apparatus and a hose reel to tackle a blaze in the shed of the property. The cause of the fire is being investigated.

Building Fire, Eccles

At 9.51pm on Thursday, November 24, firefighters were called to Palladium Bingo Hall in Liverpool Road, Eccles.

A neon sign had set on fire and caused damage to the front of the building. The sign had been isolated upon arrival of firefighters. The incident was contained in approximately 50 minutes.

Crews wish to remind the public of the importance of getting all electrics checked by a professional. 

Cooking Fire, Manchester

At 10.23pm on Thursday, November 24, two fire engines from Salford and two from Moss Side attended a cooking fire in a block of high rise flats on Blantyre Street in Manchester.

Crews treated a woman for shock and smoke inhalation at the scene and were in attendance for approximately 25 minutes.

Chinatown fire, Manchester

At 2.13am this morning (Friday, November 25) a fire broke out in Manchester’s Chinatown.
