Firefighters from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) were called by the RSPCA on Sunday, May 24, 2015, at around 1.30pm after one-year-old Pishrow became trapped between a wall and a row of garages at Moseley Grange, Cheadle Hulme.

GMFRS Station Manager Carlos Meakin said: “GMFRS was requested by the RSPCA to assist releasing Pishrow after she became trapped in a tight gap between a garden wall and a row of garages – about 20ft in and 8ft down.

“Cheadle firefighters released Pishrow by getting on top of the garages and cutting away the shrubbery that she was entangled in. They also used a thermal imaging camera to locate her through body heat before working with the RSPCA to lift her out to safety.”

Family pet Pishrow was then handed to her owners, Azzy and Koosha Fathi, who said they had not seen her for three days and had been searching for her.

Azzy Fathi said: “Both me and Koosha are so relieved now that Pishrow is safe – we hadn’t seen her for three days.  I can’t explain how happy I am, the firefighters did a great job and I can’t thank them enough.”
