Chemical incident, Manchester
At 10.12am this morning, Wednesday, November 23, five fire engines, including special appliances, were sent to reports of a chemical leak in Denmark Road.
On arrival at the brewery firefighters discovered a leak within the plant room, with a GMFRS environmental officer confirming the substance to be ammonia.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus isolated the leak and handed the incident over to site management and on site engineers.
Crew members were at the incident for around five hours.
Bus fire, Manchester
At 10.17am on Wednesday, November 23, two fire engines, from Manchester Central and Philips Park, were called to Paton Street.
Firefighters discovered a fire involving the battery compartment of a double-decker bus, and wearing breathing apparatus they used a hose reel to tackle the blaze.
Crew members were at the incident for around an hour.
