Firefighters deal with fire involving ground-floor flat

Borough: Stockport

Incident Date: 14 December 2016

Stockport flat fire

At 11.56am on Wednesday, December 14, three fire engines were sent to Brinnington Road after a fire broke out in a ground-floor flat.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels to tackle the fire which took hold in the living area of the property. They then used a high pressure fan to remove smoke from the flat.

There was nobody in the flat at the time of the fire.

The fire is believed to have started due to an electrical fault in a dehumidifier.

Crew members were at the incident for around one hour and 25 minutes.
