Firefighters called to weather-related incidents
A NUMBER of 999 calls were made to North West Fire Control after a storm hit Greater Manchester shortly before 6.30pm on Tuesday, September 13.
In a 90 minute period 106 calls were made by people reporting flooding and weather related issues.
The majority of the callers were given advice from control operators and the incidents listed below include those attended to by fire crews.
6.24pm, B&Q, Kingsway, Manchester
Firefighters were sent to the property as electrics were affected by flood water.
6.27pm, Winchester Drive, Heaton Norris, Stockport
Electrics were affected by flood water and one fire engine was sent to the address.
6.27pm, Crossley Road, Stockport
Firefighters were called to reports of a woman and children trapped inside a car in flood water under a railway bridge.
On arrival firefighters found a woman and a boy were out of the car and they checked the car for further occupants. NWAS attended the incident so took care of the woman and boy.
6.29pm, Buckingham Road West, Heaton Morris, Stockport
A fire engine went to the address after water entered the garage and affected electrics.
6.29pm, Heaton Road, Manchester
Water affected electrics and an engine was sent to the address.
6.29pm, Queens Road, Cheadle Hulme
A fire engine from Cheadle went to a vets on Queens Road after water affected electrics.
6.30pm, Bright Eyes Child Care Nursery, Demesne Road, Manchester
Water affected electrics and one engine went to the nursery.
6.34pm, Broadway, Bramhall, Stockport
Water affected electrics and one engine went to the address.
7.14pm, Alness Road, Manchester
One engine attended as water was affecting electrics.
7.36pm, The Village Club and Restaurant, Captain Clarke Road, Hyde
One engine was sent to the property and electrics were affected by water.
