Apprenticeships are a central part of our aim to improve the quality of life for the people of Greater Manchester.
Our work with young people helps us to reduce fires and anti-social-behaviour in our communities.
We are also dedicated to supporting young people into work, training or education, equipping them with skills to be successful in their lives.
An apprenticeship is a real job with training. You earn as you learn picking up recognised qualifications along the way.
They take one to three years to complete and cover lots of professions and industries.
At GMFRS we offer a range of Apprenticeships within the following departments:
Prevention and Protection
To be eligible for an apprenticeship at GMFRS you need to have been involved with one of our schemes for young people for three months or more and between the ages of 16 and 25.
Our schemes for young people are:
Salford & Trafford Ex-offenders Programme (STEP)
