Kitchen fire, Greenfield

At 6.24pm two fire engines from Oldham and one from Mossley responded to reports of a fire in a kitchen of a domestic, mid-terrace house on Waterside Cottages, Greenfield.

The fire involved an electric cooker and crews used one hose, four breathing apparatus and a hearth kit to extinguish the flames. GMFRS were on the scene for roughly 45 minutes.

Bedroom fire, Salford

At 6.46pm three fire engines, two from Eccles and one from Agecroft, attended a domestic address on Eccles Old Road, Salford, following reports of a fire in bedroom.

Upon arrival the fire was located on the first floor – the paper lampshade of a bedside light had caught.

Crews used one hose to extinguish the flames and a ventilation fan and thermal imaging camera to clear the room and neighbouring rooms of smoke.

GMFRS were at the address for roughly 25 minutes.

Road accident, Wigan

Two fire engines from Wigan, supported by technical and major response units, attended a road traffic collision at 10pm on Scholefield Lane, Wigan.

The two cars involved in the crash were both made safe by firefighters, while a woman was extricated using hydraulic tools to remove a passenger door; she was later taken to hospital.

Crews were on the scene for just over 30 minutes.
