Between 5.30pm on Tuesday, December 12 and 8am on Wednesday, December 13, we responded to 48 incidents. Read about some of them below:
Kitchen fire – Ince
AT 5:56pm on Tuesday, December 12, three crews from Wigan and Hindley attended a building fire in Malvern Crescent, Ince.
Firefighters wearing two breathing apparatus extinguished the flames using one hose reel and a positive pressure ventilation fan.
The cause of the fire was accidental and was due to an electrical fault in a toaster.
Crews were in attendance for thirty minutes.
Car fire – Failsworth
AT 6:52pm on Tuesday, December 12, three crews from Hollins, Chadderton and Ashton-Under-Lyne attended a fire involving a vehicle on a driveway in Pike Avenue, Failsworth.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames using two hose reels.
The cause of the fire was accidental and was due to an electrical fault in the engine. The fire fortunately did not spread to the property.
Crews were in attendance for one hour.
Vehicle fire – Ashton-Under-Lyne
AT 11:49pm on Tuesday, December 12, two crews from Ashton-Under-Lyne and Stalybridge attended a fire involving a caravan, one car and the front of three properties in Downing Street, Ashton-Under-Lyne.
Crews wearing two breathing apparatus used four hose reels to extinguish the flames.
Crews were in attendance for one hour and twenty minutes.
