House Fire – Rochdale – December 22, 2016
AT 6.18pm on December 22, 2016, crews from Rochdale and Oldham attended a fire at a ground floor flat in Bramhall Close, Milnrow. Firefighters tackled the flames by using a thermal imaging camera and one hose reel. Once the fire was extinguished they used a positive pressure fan to clear smoke.
It is believed the fire was started deliberately and crews fitted smoke alarms and letter box protectors and were in attendance for around two hours and thirty minutes.
Chimney Fire – Stockport – December 22, 2016
AT 6.39pm on December 22, 2016 two pumps from Whitehill and Stockport, a hydraulic platform from Oldham and a technical response unit from Leigh attended a chimney fire in Elm Tree Road, Bredbury.
On arrival, firefighters tackled the blaze involving the flue of a wood burning stove. Fire had spread to the joist of the first floor. Crews used one hose reel and other tools, along with a thermal imaging camera, to fight the fire.
Firefighters checked adjacent properties for smoke and crews were in attendance for two hours and forty-five minutes.
RTC – Oldham – December 22, 2016
TWO fire engines from Hollins and Oldham, along with the technical response unit from Ashton attended a road traffic collision at 7.19pm on December 22, 2016 in Hollins Road, Oldham.
Upon arrival, crews dealt with an incident involving two cars. They used cutting equipment to remove the roof from one of the cars and rescued one casualty who was taken to hospital.
Crews remained at the scene for approximately one hour assisting Greater Manchester Police and NWAS.
Vehicle fire – Bolton – December 22, 2016
FIREFIGHTERS from Farnworth attended a car fire in Dee Drive, Kearsley, at 12.44am on December 23, 2016. Crews used one hose reel and a thermal imagine camera to extinguish the flames.
One casualty was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by NWAS.
The fire was caused deliberately.
House Fire – Wigan – December 23, 2016
THREE fire engines from Wigan and Hindley went to a house fire in Darby Lane, Hindley at 1.48am on December 23, 2016. Crews dealt with a fire in a first floor bedroom by using one hose reel to extinguish the flames and a positive pressure fan to clear smoke.
One casualty was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene but declined hospital treatment.
The cause of the fire was accidental caused by candles.
