Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service attended 59 incidents overnight between 5.30pm on October 24 and 8.30am on October 25, 2017.
Commercial unit fire – Gorton
Road traffic collision – M62
AT 7.06pm on October 24, three fire engines from Heywood, Rochdale and Oldham, and the technical response unit and major rescue unit from Ashton, were called to a road traffic collision involving a person trapped on the M62 westbound between junctions 21 and 22. One car was involved in the incident, and the ambulance service took a man to hospital.
Small shipping container fire – Wigan
AT 7.33pm on October 24, three fire engines from Wigan and Hindley attended a fire involving a small shipping container on Kenyon Road in Wigan. Crews used breathing apparatus, hose reels and fans to bring the fire under control and clear smoke. They were on the scene for just over an hour.
Digger fire - Manchester
AT 9.35pm on October 24, three fire engines from Manchester Central, Broughton and Gorton were called to a fire involving a digger on Dantzic Street in Manchester. Crews used a hose reel to tackle the fire and were on the scene for 45 minutes.
Garage fire - Oldham
ON October 24, at 9.49pm, two fire engines from Oldham tackled a garage fire on Welcome Parade in Oldham. Crews were on the scene for 55 minutes.
