Overnight incidents - Monday, October 16 - Tuesday, October 17

Between 5.30pm, Monday, October 16 and 8.30am, Tuesday, October 17 we were called 146 times and responded to 67 incidents. Below is a selection of some of the incidents which we attended. 

 

Building fire – Stockport

AT 17.50pm on Monday, October 16, four fire engines from Stockport, Cheadle, Whitehill and Wythenshawe were called to a building fire in Cheadle Heath, Stockport.

On arrival crews found the roof of the building on fire, which required them to use one hose reel and an extension ladder to extinguish.

Firefighters were on the scene for 30 minutes.

 

Garage fire – Prestwich

AT 23.09pm on Monday, October 16, two fire engines from Whitefield and Broughton were mobilised to a garage fire in Heys Road, Prestwich.

To extinguish the fire, firefighters used two hose reels and four breathing apparatus, remaining at the incident for one hour and 15 minutes to ensure the area was safe.

The cause of the fire was thought to have been accidental.

 

Garage fire – Rochdale

AT 23.19pm on Monday, October 16, two fire engines from Rochdale were called to a garage fire in Elm Park Vale, Rochdale.

On arrival at the garage, which measured roughly 8 metres by 15 metres, firefighters were met with a good sized fire. They made use of one hose reel, one jet, an extension ladder, two breathing apparatus, thermal imagining scanner and lighting to extinguish the blaze.

Firefighters remained at the incident for one hour and 30 minutes.

The cause of the fire was thought to have been accidental.
