Shed fire – Bolton – January 11, 2017
THREE fire engines from Bolton fire station attended a fire at a property in Wordsworth Street, Bolton at 2am on January 11, 2017. Crews used two hose reels to fight the fire and cleared smoke from the property using a positive pressure fan.
The fire involved two wheelie bins and a wooden shed in the garden of the property, however, due to strong winds the fire spread to the facia of the house. A woman and her two sons escaped prior to the arrival of crews.
Crews were in attendance for just over an hour.
The cause of the fire was deliberate.
Bin fire – Bolton – January 11, 2017
AT 3.06am on January 11, 2017, two fire engines from Bolton and a fire engine from Bolton North attended a fire at a shop in Halliwell Road, Bolton. The fire involved wheelie bins in the rear yard of the shop and caused minor damage to the back of the property externally.
Crews were in attendance for just under one hour.
The fire was started deliberately.
Commercial shop fire – Wigan – January 11, 2017
AT 3.10am, firefighters from Atherton, Hindley and Farnworth attended an incident involving a cash machine at a shop in Castle Street, Tyldesley. Firefighters used one hose reel and two breathing apparatus to tackle the flames and one positive pressure fan to clear smoke.
The cause of the fire was deliberate and crews were at the scene for around one hour.
Man trapped – Salford – January 11, 2017
At 7.55am on Wednesday, Jan 11, two crews from Salford and the rescue response unit from Ashton were called to an incident in The Crescent, Salford.
An incident had taken place that involved a man becoming trapped by a digger that had fallen 15 feet down an embankment.
Firefighters used specialist equipment to rescue the casualty by 8.45am and left him in the care of the ambulance service.
