Large rubbish fire at Bury skip hire company
At 10.05pm a crew from Bury and Heywood were called to the yard of M60 Skip Hire following reports of a smouldering fire in a large pile of rubbish.
Firefighters worked with the business owners to excavate the pile of rubbish and extinguish the fire using a water jet.
The crew were there for around 90 minutes and the cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental.
Two women rescued after Standish grill pan blaze
At 11.52pm a crew from Bolton Central and Wigan were called to a fire on Hutton Street, Standish, which began in an unattended grill pan in the kitchen.
Four firefighters in breathing apparatus used hose reels to extinguish the blaze and rescued two women from the property, who suffered smoke inhalation and shock.
Both women were taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital as a precaution.
Man rescued from Bolton car crash
At 1.39am a crew from Bolton Central and Leigh were called to a collision between an Audi and a parked car on Radcliffe Road, Bolton.
On arrival the crew found an unconscious 23-year-old man trapped in a car and used hydraulic cutting equipment to free him from the vehicle.
Firefighters were on the scene for around fifty minutes and the casualty was taken to hospital after being treated by paramedics.
