Fire fighters have been called to 37 incidents between 8am and 5.30pm today (Thursday, December 21).

 

Wheelie bin fire, Ramsbottom

At 1.28pm, three fire engines from Ramsbottom, Whitefield and Rawtenstall fire stations were called to a fire Hill Street in Summerseat, Ramsbottom, involving a wheelie bin.

Firefighters used one hose reel to out the fire out. The fire also caused smoke damage to the inside of the adjacent property and a positive pressure ventilation fan clear the smoke.

Crews were at the incident for approximately one hour.


 

Kitchen fire, Bury

At 2.30pm three fire engines from Heywood, Whitefield and Bolton Central fire stations attended a house fire on Bury Old Road, in Ainsworth, Bury.

Firefighters used two hose reels, four breathing apparatus, a scot protege detector and a positive pressure ventilation fan to tackle the fire in the kitchen of the house.

Crews also rescued a cat from the house and was given oxygen. The cat has been checked over by a vet and is safe and well.

Fire officers were at the scene for approximately two hours and thirty minutes.
