Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service attended 26 incidents between 8am and 5.30pm, Monday January 15. Read about two traffic accidents below:
Road traffic accident, Worsley
At 12.31pm a fire engine from Eccles attended a road traffic collision involving two cars on Alfred Street, Worsley.
Firefighters administered first aid to a man and a woman who had sustained head injuries while also making the scene safe, moving vehicles to clear the road.
GMFRS were on the scene for two hours.
Traffic accident, Chorlton-cum-Hardy
Two fire engines from Sale and Moss Side, along with two specialist appliances from Leigh, attended a traffic collision involving two cars, one stationary on the driveway of a house, at 1.57pm on Egerton Road South in Chorlton-cum-Hardy.
Firefighters used cutting equipment to rescue one woman from a car who was later transported to hospital. Crews also liaised with police and the gas board to isolate the gas supply to the house, which had been disrupted by the crash.
Crews were in attendance for an hour and a half.
